PATLIB

PATLIB centres provide users with patent information by carrying out searches for them in national and international patent databases. Depending on the national IPR system concerned, many centres also provide information on other intellectual property rights such as trade marks, designs and models. PATLIB centre staff perform searches for their customers and provide advice on searching and using the patent information available in PATLIB centre libraries. A number of centres have developed patent awareness modules, workshops and training programmes for their users. Some arrange for patent attorneys and commercial patent information providers to visit centres on a regular basis to advise users on intellectual property rights. A number of centres have developed their own special services and products.
PATLIB centres are used by students, inventors, researchers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), patent agents and members of the general public.
