Coverage of the database containing the patent abstracts of Japan
This database contains the abstracts of Japanese patent applications - non examined - filed by Japanese applicants since October 1976. From 1998 onwards, it also contains patent applications which priority is not Japanese.
The database is updated monthly, but due to the translation process applications are not available until six months after publication.
Note: With the release of the esp@cenet® version 3, it is now possible to view the first-page image, where available, on the bibliographic data screen.
