Coverage of the EP database
This database enables you to search the patent applications published by the European Patent Office over the last 24 months (for EP patents older than 24 months
you should select the worldwide database option). Only the bibliographic data of EP patent documents can be searched and displayed .
Note: In this database, it is not possible to perform searches either in the abstract field or using a European Classification symbol.
Under normal circumstances new EP documents are added to the database on a weekly basis, on the day of publication (Wednesday). They are available in the worldwide database shortly after.
On the home page of the EPO's esp@cenet ® server (ep.espacenet.com), you will find the most recent documents under the heading "Local coverage".
