Definition:

The Publication Number is the number assigned to a patent when the patent application is published.

Content:

This number is different from the Application Number, which is assigned when the patent application is filed. (PCT applications: the EP Publication Number will retrieve the corresponding PCT publication)

Syntax:

CCnnnnnnnnnn or CC

Format:

The Publication Number is made up of a Country Code (2 letters) and a serial number (variable, 1 to 10 digits).

Do not enter blanks between the Country Code and the number

To retrieve all the documents having a particular country code in combination with other entries (dates, etc.), it is sufficient to enter the Country Code (2 letters).
